{Brant’s Sneak Peek}

•December 8, 2009 • 11 Comments

The very first time I met Brant was at my son’s preschool over the summer for an open house/meet the teacher day.  He was sitting at a table by the pretend play section where my kids were also playing.  You can actually see the back of him playing with Katie in this blog post about that day!  I could tell instantly he was quite the ham.  When it was time to clean up the toys they had taken out he started singing in a mid level voice, “It’s time to clean up, it’s time to cleanup!”  And when he got to the next verse he shouted out, “A little louder now!” and then proceed to sing the sing in a loud voice LOL   Every time I see Brant he always bring a smile to my face.  He’s such a sweet boy and has such a sunny personality 🙂

When his mama asked me about doing his pictures I knew we’d only need a mini session to get what we needed for some Christmas pictures of him. As soon as we got him positioned this was the pose we got LOL

I told you he was a ham 🙂

I just love how you can see how sweet and the warm personality he has here

Brant loved checking out the pictures I got of him in between set ups.  He agreed that he looked like quite the handsome boy!

Isn’t he too cute?!?

I just love this one!

Thank you so much Lori for having me take Brant’s pictures!  I had such a good time with ya’ll and I am excited to share the rest with you 🙂

{Apalachicola Anniversary}

•December 7, 2009 • 18 Comments

Aimee contacted me several weeks ago about taking her family’s pictures on her parent’s 28th wedding anniversary.  They had never gotten their whole family together for pictures and this was a great occaision to do it.  The weather leading up to this shoot was just awful!  It was rainy and cold every single day.  The forecast for the day of the shoot started to look promising- it was a high of 50 but SUNNY!  Aimee decided to have the shoot in Apalachicola because that’s where she was raised along with her sister Brittany and her parents had lived there throughout their 28 year marriage.  I am so glad we had the shoot there!  Every place we shot at had a special meaning for their family, whether they helped pave a sidewalk or they owned the building.  And goodness, they seemed to know every person who passed on the street!  We’d be shooting pictures and a car would drive by, stop, and you’d hear someone shout out, “Happy Anniversary!”.  It was special to see a family who truely loved their home town and the people who loved them 🙂

And this family!  Goodness they are just super sweet!  I felt like after this shoot I walked away with a whole group of new friends.  And I love that they all have their own businesses too.  Aimee’s parents have a construction company in Apalachicola.  Her husband Jodie is a graphic design artist who builds and hosts websites.  You can check out his business Freehand Media here.  Aimee’s sister Brittany owns This Little Piggy, yes that super cute consignment store located in the 23rd street Publix shopping center.  And Aimee herself is a Zumba  instructor.  Talented bunch, huh?

Now onto the pictures because I know they are dying to see them!  Did I mention it was super cold?  It was and this family were like picture pros.

Here’s Aimee and her family

I just love this one of ya’ll!  Check out those gazes!

And here are their adorable boys.  The pictures in this sequence right after involved a head lock!

This is Brittany and her beautiful family.  You wouldn’t know it by looking at this picture but Brittany and her little boy Ben were pretty sick that day.  They were such troopers!

How cute is this couple?!?

They have the most adorable little girl, Bella!

And now for their parents, Papa and Mimi.  Here they are, celebrating 28 years of marriage.  Mimi you are one beautiful grandmother 🙂

And I had to share a silhouette of the two of you together

Here’s the whole group together!

Thank you so much for allowing me to capture such a special day for your family.  It was so great meeting ya’ll!  I hope you loved your sneak peek and I cannot wait to show ya’ll the rest 🙂

It has been awhile coming, but this was my very first stranger shoot.  And goodness I couldn’t have asked for better people!  Jonathan and Tamara are beautiful inside and out.  It was so fun hearing about how long they had been dating, their future plans, and all about their upcoming wedding in August!  If Tamara looks slightly familiar, she is the younger sister of Crystal.  I had heard a lot of great things about Tamara from Crystal so it was really nice putting it all together face to face.  Tamara is also part of the Wax Divas so if ya’ll are in need of a great wax, go see her and Crystal!

Jonathan and Tamara are one of the most stunning couples I have ever seen.  Tamara, you are going to make one gorgeous bride!

Check out her beautiful engagement ring

They are tons of fun too!

I adore this one of ya’ll!

We headed down to the beach that was right next to the pier Jonathan proposed on 🙂

And here’s a picture that will leave you wanting more

Thank you so much Jonathan and Tamara!  I felt like I walked away with two new friends.  I can’t wait to show ya’ll the rest!

{Stokes Family Sneak Peek}

I am so excited to share these pictures with this family!  I have been so fortunate that everyone I have shot has been up and ready for anything.  Ones that don’t bat an eye when I point to an alley way that has washer machines hanging out or pose their kids next to air conditioners 🙂  The Stokes family was absolutely wonderful!  Bethany and I went to school together but I had never met her family.  And let me tell you, she is one blessed woman!

Do you see what I mean?  Her family is just beautiful!

Their kids are absolutely adorable!  It’s so fun that one of them look just like their Daddy and the other looks just like his Mommy.  I absolutely adore this picture

Peyton has this cute thing where if you ask him to be cute to one side he’ll do a cute pose for you.  I personally think he’s cute all over 🙂

See what I mean?

And Zach is just so handsome!

This pictures is so sweet and Bethany you look so pretty

And finally, I just had to share this with them.  They have a lot of love there 🙂

Thank you so much Stokes family for spending the afternoon with me!  I just adore your family and can’t wait to share the rest of them

I just love this family!  Meet Danny, Cyndii, Austin, and Macy.  One of the most fun families to be around!  They are always cracking jokes with each other and they have such a great warm feeling about them.  I was really excited to shoot them and was really excited when we arrived at our location.  I loved all those beautiful colors they had on!  Perfect for the backdrop we chose.

Check out this beautiful family!

Check out Danny and Cyndii workin’ it here!  Cyndii you look so beautiful 🙂

Here’s Austin and his awesome hat.  I bet Carrie Underwood would love this picture!

And goodness, I just love moody black and white photos and this one definitely fits the bill.  I think Carrie would go for this one too 🙂

Macy is in the same class as my daughter Peyton.  When she saw these of Macy she instantly talked about how pretty she looks here.  And I couldn’t agree more!

Love this of her too!

I think one of the highlights of our afternoon of shooting was doing the silhouette shots.  We got some really creative, fun shots of them!

Thank you so much ya’ll for such a fun afternoon!  I hope you love your sneak peek 🙂

{Prayers for Francis}

•November 6, 2009 • 18 Comments

When I moved to Panama City in the middle of my freshman year from Japan, I  met Francis.  And we quickly became 2 peas in a pod.  Francis and I did practically everything together and most of my high school memories include her somehow.   I remember going to her house, picking her up in my little Geo Metro, and we’d make a McDonald’s run just because we could.  We’d always order happy meals just to be goofy.  And goodness we thought we were the coolest people EVER when the Camaro came along.  I remember the year we both made the Ramette squad together and we burst into squeals and hugged each other when we saw our names on that list posted by the gym door.  We had band camps, bus rides, and competitions.  And just about everytime I had french braided her gorgeous hair and did her makeup.  We had Azalea Trail, antebellum dress shopping, and fake flower runs so we could make our hats.  Calendar Girl wins that left us psyched every time.  There were proms and prom dresses that were dubbed Barney.  Frannie and Tornie- we were inseperable and the very best of friends.

Fast forward husbands, kids, and 12 years later life had just gotten in the way.  It’s amazing though, any time we run into each other or have lunch it is like no time has passed at all.  About a week ago Francis’s little sister Lois sent me a chat message telling me Francis had been diagnosed with a brain tumor.  Before I knew it tears streamed down my face.  I hate that my dear sweet friend is being faced with this.  They found out yesterday it wasn’t cancerous and her surgery date has been set for November 30th.  Please send as many good thoughts and prayers as you can for Francis and her family.   There is more information about Francis’s condition on a blog started by her sisters Lois and Farris to keep everyone updated on how Francis is doing.  You can read about it here

I was asked to meet them and get some pictures of their family.  Here are some of my favorites from our time together

I admire you so much Frannie for how you have handled everything.  You are the epitome of grace and elegance.  If you need anything at all, I am here for you

{Crystal and Tommy sneak peek}

•November 4, 2009 • 5 Comments

I just love this family!  We have so many similarities and always have a great time when we are together.  Crystal, like myself, is very much all girl.  She’s an esthetician who specializes in waxing, facials, microdermabrasion, and professional makeup application.  She’s so good at waxing she’s known as the Wax Diva. Tommy is so much like my husband. All boy, loves to joke, and they both run their own businesses. If you need an electrician, look Tommy up! And we all love to go camping 🙂 I hope to see you guys soon and I hope you love your sneak peek!

Here’s the whole family together

How cute is their little boy Jake?  If you have feel a blog follower for awhile, he was the little boy holding Katie’s hand here

I love his little squinty smile here 🙂

This face is going to knock the girls dead when he gets older

We were taking a water break when jake asked to be swung.  It always gets me how much joy children find in the simplest things.  You can see it all over his face right here- there was no other place he’d rather of been then swinging with his Daddy right at that moment

And am so in love with this picture of Tommy and Crystal!  I want one like this of my husband and me.  It has so much love in it!

And an amazing sunset shot of their family

Thank you so much for letting me photography your family!  I can’t wait to share the rest with ya’ll!
